This course presents specific system concepts, methodologies, and tools to strategically plan technology research and development (R&D), to effectively manage core competencies, and to integrate them into the product development lifecycle. It examines strategic planning by the R&D manager to ensure future survival and growth for the organization. In particular, techniques to stimulate and manage innovation in the workplace are discussed with respect to the product development lifecycle.
